The Defense Institute for Medical Operations (DIMO) 9th Annual HIV/AIDS Planning and Policy Development Course, held in San Antonio TX, 5-11 December 2009.  The course was attended by 49 students representing 22 countries.  (US Air Force Photo)


DIMO uses multiservice subject matter experts as instructors from active duty, Guard/Reserves as well as civilians from DoD and other US government agencies. Our courses are funded by many different sources, such as: International Military Education and Training (IMET), Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Foreign Military Financing (FMF), Counter Drug (1004), Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), Department of Defense HIV/AIDS Prevention Program (DHAPP), and Counter Terrorism Fellowship Program (CTFP).

Of the hundreds of training missions DIMO has performed, some receive some publicity through various agencies. As part of the curriculum, students from the Defense Institute for Medical Operations, 6th annual HIV/AIDS Planning and Policy Development course tour the Alamo; San Antonio, TX, December 2006. 3-9 Dec 11. This year the course will be held at the St. Anthony Riverwalk Hotel in downtown San Antonio, TX.

This year's Defense Institute for Medical Operations HIV/AIDS Planning and Policy Development course will be held from 3-9 December 2011; the course theme will be "Combating Coinfection." This internationally known course is conducted annually in San Antonio, Texas. To date, more than 650 students from approximately 50 countries have attended this course.
